Diego Ramón Jiménez Salazar cuyo nombre artístico es Diego El Cigala es uno de los cantantes más importantes de flamenco y música latina a nivel mundial. Sobre su experiencia con la música mexicana menciona que desde pequeño se vio influenciado puesto que escuchaba a artistas flamencos cantar canciones típicas del país norteamericano. Añade que su acoplamiento con la música de mariachi fue sorprendentemente sencillo, “me salió del alma”, continuó diciendo que la poesía de las letras lo apasiona a sobremanera.

Diego Ramon Jimenez Salazar, whose stage name is Diego El Cigala, is one of the most important flamenco and Latin music singers worldwide. Throughout his career, he has pushed the boundaries of flamenco by blending musical genres and captivating people with his unique voice.
His natural talent for singing was nurtured from a young age under the guidance of his father, who was also a renowned singer and taught him the fundamentals of this beautiful discipline. Among his musical experiments, he has incorporated jazz and various types of Latin music such as Cuban music, bolero, and tango.
This has earned him a large and diverse audience from all around the world who identify with and appreciate his melodies. In 2020, he had a tribute performance titled “Cigala Canta a México” as a way to express his love and respect for Mexico.
